The Scaiano group concentrates on the study of new materials. The synthesis and applications of the materials frequently employ the tools of photochemistry, an area where we have vast experience and excellent facilities. We place emphasis on the uses of nanomaterials in catalysis and in the health sciences. We like to understand the detailed mechanisms of action and for this, we employ a variety of spectroscopic tools, including single molecule microscopy.
